Hi! I'm Melissa.

I am a certified personal trainer, nutrition coach, fitness lover and, most importantly, mom of two awesome daughters (& one adorable Golden Retriever). I have been in the wellness industry for 20 years & fitness, nutrition & wellness have always been both my passions and my personal therapies.

While I do believe that there are certain pillars of health & fitness that will serve most women, I also strongly believe that it is a very personal journey. The foundation of my coaching is based on three core beliefs:

  1. Autonomy - You have the right to make choices about your body, your food, & your fitness that are best for you! No one else is the authority of you and you can trust your inner wisdom.

  2. Empowerment - Knowledge is power! When you are give true freedom in combination with good knowledge you will feel empowered and capable to take the actions that are right for you.

  3. Joy - Improving your relationship with food, fitness, & your body doesn’t have to be wrought with anguish & drama. This can (& should be) a fun & joyful experience. The more we enjoy it, the quicker we can reach our goals!

Now, as a women in her late 40’s I believe that how we care for our bodies matters more than ever. It is not too late to improve your health, take control of your physique or get in the best shape of your life! I truly believe the best is yet to come!

My mission is to empower women to take back control of their health & their bodies in a way that is both healing and empowering. Let’s put the old diet culture trauma behind us - let’s focus on being strong instead of skinny, let’s make nourishing our bodies a bigger priority than shrinking them, and let’s finally show our bodies all the love & care they truly deserve!

My Credentials

I have worked in the health & fitness industry for over 20 years as a personal trainer, nutrition coach, and college instructor.

I have a degree in Psychology from the College of Charleston and have completed a Wellness Coaching course through Wellcoaches.
